ADS-B receiver
Automatic Dependent Surveillance - broadcast (ADS–B) is a surveillance
technology in which an aircraft determines its position via satellite
navigation and periodically broadcasts it, enabling it to be tracked.
The information can be received by air traffic control ground stations
as a replacement for secondary surveillance radar because no
interrogation signal is needed from the ground. It can also be received
by other aircraft to provide situational awareness and
allow self-separation. ADS–B is "automatic" - it requires no pilot or external input. It is "dependent" in that it depends on data from the aircraft's navigation system. ADS-B is being implemented world-wide prior to 2020. An FAA Letter of Authority (LOA) grants authority for operations requiring ADS-B or ADS-C in section A056. Application for A056 requires specific equipment capabilities and flightcrew training depending on the geographical area(s) in which you anticipate operating. The process for completing a submission for ADS operating authority can be frustrating and time consuming. Our experience dates to the implementation of CPDLC. With AVPRO Resources, Inc. you can focus on operating your flight department while we remain entirely focused on ensuring you obtain operating authorities quickly, efficiently and professionally. |
