    RVSM

RVSM airspace exists between Flight Level 290 and Flight Level 410 world-wide. To operate in this airspace an operator must obtain authority from the FAA in the form of a Letter of Authority (LOA).

When an operator acquires a new or previously operated aircraft a new LOA or must be obtained. LOAs are issued to the operator - not the aircraft. The previous operator's authority cannot be "transferred" to the new owner.

An FAA Letter of Authority (LOA) grants authority for operations in RVSM airspace in section B046. Application for B046 requires specific equipment capabilities and flightcrew training depending on the geographical area(s) in which you anticipate operating.

The process for completing a submission for RVSM operating authority can be frustrating and time consuming. Our experience dates to the implementation of CPDLC. With AVPRO Resources, Inc. you can focus on operating your flight department while we remain entirely focused on ensuring you obtain operating authorities quickly, efficiently and professionally.

                                                                          NOTE
Effective January 22, 2019 the FAA will no longer require a Letter of Authorization (LOA) to operate in United States RVSM airspace. We have been informed by ICAO that nations other than the United States are under no obligation to follow the FAA policy and regulation. We advise our clients to obtain an RVSM LOA to ensure unhindered operations internationally - particularly Europe and Asia.
